Starfish Therapies is a pediatric therapy company in Burlingame.
We provide physical and occupational therapy services for kids from 0-22 years old to address gross motor, fine motor, orthopedic, and neurologic development through activities that address coordination, strength, play skills, balance, environmental exploration, sensory integration, and so much more.
As a company and as individual therapists, we focus on the specific needs of your child and your family, creating custom therapy programs for every child. Our goal is to achieve the desired results while your child has fun!

How We Got Our Name
"Starfish Therapies" was derived from the story of The Star Thrower by Loren Eiseley, which has been adapted numerous times over the years. The following adaptation inspired our name.
One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean. Approaching the boy, he asked, “What are you doing?”
The youth replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.”
“Son,” the man said, “don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can’t make a difference!”
After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it back into the ocean. Then smiling at the man, he said, “I made a difference to that one”.
